@phoneboy congrats! 🎉🍾
@joeo10 thanks joe! I’m anticipating the surgeon will share the same sentiment my Dr does in that I need surgery.
@variablepulserate yeah, that’s probably a fair assessment. I’d say surgery is needed to grind down the spur at the very least. I’d say that is what’s causing the instability and constant feeling of being out of place. Even my Dr after looking at the original X-ray from when I first dislocated it was like ‘well that’s not where your kneecap is meant to be…’ 🙃
@matigo it’s more discomfort than pain at this point, which the knee brace helps with.
Hey all - just thought I’d give you an update on what happens next with the whole knee thing …
So the MRI came back with a spur, floating cartilage and fluid behind the knee. The spur I expected, knowing I’d seen it in the previous x-ray but the other stuff not so much. No meniscus or ligament damage though so that’s a plus.
Next step now is to see the knee surgeon, that happens at the end of March. But until then I guess I just keep wearing the stabilising brace I have.
@variablepulserate I’d say it’d be getting in there and grinding it down, make sure the kneecap is in fact back in its proper position and go from there. Until I see the knee surgeon I won’t know for sure.

@matigo That’s true. I don’t have access to the report to go along with the images though.
@matigo I hope so. Now that I’ve discovered the spur though, I wonder if that’s causing the instability cause it can’t find its home so to speak.
Well, the big metal donut adventure is over. Went in feet first (thank god), they played an 80’s playlist through the headphones I had, and I got to look at a gum tree the whole time.
I have the images on my phone and I couldn’t see anything sinister but I’m no expert. I’ll see the doctor for a follow up this coming Tuesday so will know more about next steps then.
