A conversation Mum and I had tonight:

Mum: What's the word on the street, Shell?
Me: Nothing yet.

Each day since this recruitment process started I've fielded all sorts of questions of this kind. Little does she know my referee checks were done today. The result is so close I can smell it. I am one step closer to getting my Switch.

I had a team meeting today with my pseudo manager, who was also on the panel. There were discussions around my teamie taking leave in July but it wouldn't be confirmed until my job was finalised, to which she said 'I don't think we need to worry about that!'

Should I be taking this as a good sign? Honestly I don't know. All I know is I'm nervous as heck. Friday is what I like to call 'crunch day', let's hope for some good news coming into the weekend.

If it were me I would've just shrugged it off, you know. There have been many times where I've been this close to the lift and the doors have closed on me. There was obviously something burning inside him to have to say something to me about it though.

I think if I was more alert (seriously, who is alert at almost 8am in the morning with no sustenance to speak of), I would've probably had the reflexes to press the button to open the door. Oh well.

@kdfrawg hahahahahaha!

Yeah, that's right. It's not what you know but who you know these days.

Yeah, I'm noticing they're selling like hotcakes. The guy in JB Hifi told me that sales of the Switch have gone past the Wii and Wii U combined, as well as Xbox One. That must be enough to tell people this is a good console. I'll certainly be jumping on the bandwagon. I can't wait to get it. Last console I bought was a DS XL.

You're right about the Virtual Console and that was the one reservation I had about getting one in the first place but there are many advantages that outweigh it. I'm probably going to spend many hours playing Breath of the Wild and by the time I even get remotely close to 100% completion there will be more games released and hopefully an update with the Virtual Console included. Time will tell I guess.

Just had one of my colleagues chastise me for not opening the door of the lift as it was closing. OMG, really? If the shoe was on the other foot would you have done the same for me? Probably not.

You know what dude? If that's all you've to think about in your life right now then you've got issues.

Thanks my friend. This week is going to be tough.

@kdfrawg i guess not, it gives you room to move and learn new things.

That's what I like about it. The fact I can take it with me on the train to work and then continue when I get home. I don't have to ban playing during the week anymore cause I can continue where I left off almost instantly and look forward to doing that. It was my own stupid fault I had my hiatus from gaming and missed out on the Wii U, but I can't dwell on the past and if this is where the gaming is at right now, I have to embrace it and join in the fun.
