The target just keeps moving further and further away. "I understand you're anxious about it all …". Yep, I know you know so just friggin' tell me already!!!!
@matigo the other good one is "I don't know, but here's who does …". Then mutter "now get off my lawn" to yourself as they walk away.
@matigo Yes, local government. I think the biggest mistake I made was coming back as a contractor and not as an outright Council employee. When I started back in 2013, I was employed outright but on a temporary full time contract, being extended for 6 months at a time. At least this time I'll be back working for them outright again with all the lurks and perks I don't get now and the contract is for 2 years, so that's some stability I guess.
I almost feel like I'm being held to ransom here. HR are ruling (or should I say ruining) my life at the moment. Early to mid this week they say … I wonder if they'll keep their word this time.
@kdfrawg The one thing I'm forgetting in all this is it's local government. Recruitment for government jobs takes time, I get that. I'm more frustrated with the fact that I expected an answer yesterday and I didn't get one. Even an update would've been nice. HR will call me on Monday, hopefully I'll get a more definitive ETA so I can put this whole thing behind me.
Welcome to the weekend1 everyone. Sadly I didn't get any news today as I expected. I sent an email to HR to find out what's going on and it looks like an outcome will happen early to mid next week. The waiting game continues.
For those of you that don't have a weekend yet, hang in there it'll come soon enough
@kdfrawg Yeah, I know. It's a horrible feeling but I just gotta grit my teeth and keep going I'm afraid.
@matigo Thanks Jason :) It's nice to know you (and many others here) have my back. Sadly I didn't get an answer today but next week is another week. The waiting game continues.
@joeo10 True. Zelda seems to be the ultimate stress reliever of choice lately. Followed closely by apple cider.
That awkward moment when you feel like you can't leave your desk in case you miss that vital phone call. Yep, that's me at the moment.
