Afternoon all, how’s it going?
I had my interview for the job I’m currently sitting in. It turns out it won’t be the same role I’ve been doing for the past year but turning more into a customer-centric role. That is, being on the phone, day in, day out and pretty much not a lot else.
It took me back to a time that wasn’t favourable for me, my mental health took a beating and it’s a place I never want to revisit.
I also found out the job I went for the interview for last week has a higher pay rate than what was first thought. A good 20k above what I’m on now. And they’re offering me the job.
A permanent job is all I’ve been striving for over 10 years probably and now it’s at my grasp. The one downfall I have is it’s not completely work from home, but with the number of people in hospital coming down and the inevitability of everyone getting COVID at some point anyway, it seems the potential for people going back to the office in some capacity is increasing anyway.
I just don’t know how the family would feel about that side of it, being exposed to the world. But today’s a perfect example. I’m on my way home on the stinky train, all masked up. I figure if I can keep that up, I can’t go wrong.
And so it goes … tomorrow is one of those random days where I have to go to the office. Another day of double masking both on the stinky train and when I get to the office.
Upside is I have an interview for the job I’m sitting in currently. I’m also up to referee stage after the interview I went for last week.
Oh and the double masking is my choice, although they are mandated here for another couple weeks.

@sumudu I gotta admit COVID has changed everything. I'm lucky enough not to have had it, thank goodness but like I was saying to Jason earlier, it's changed the whole work dynamic with working from home and not being able to be social with friends as often. I'm happy to be my introverted self for the most part but sometimes it gets to me.
