I’m getting back into playing GTAV (I needed another open world game after I finally finished Zelda a few weeks ago) but instead of actually playing I have my car parked in a spot where I can’t get hurt and just listening to the radio, while I create a playlist of all the songs on this radio station. 80’s rock at its best I might add. Also, yeah I know I’m weird.
@matigo I’m feeling a little better now, less congested at least. The husky voice came back today so I don’t know what else I can do about that.
I’ve gone from having a scratchy throat to a congested head and husky voice. Ick! Please just go away. The upside is - no inbound or outbound calls at work.
Had a semi healthy debate with a friend today over whether drinking tea counts as overall water intake. He doesn’t believe it’s right but I do. He’s looking at it from a caffeine angle and I’m more from a hydration angle.
I believe there is a small amount of caffeine in the organic black tea I drink and I can drink anywhere from 3-5 cups a day. I’m aware that caffeine can cause dehydration but I also thought it was all about how it’s metabolised. I’ve been reading that tea can be just as hydrating as water.
I guess now I want to know what your opinion is on it.
Just realised I hadn’t posted since my test of endurance on Friday - oops, my bad!
I did my test run into the city as planned on Friday morning and did much better than I expected. I am very close to getting a normal walking action back but I am still very slow, especially from a standing start. I’m still relying heavily on flat surfaces and lifts but can also do small inclines if it calls for it. I am also quite scared of escalators right now so staying the hell away from them at all costs.
I will have a walking stick with me while out in public, to not only help with balance but also to hopefully guarantee me a seat on the train to and from work.
I also saw the physio and doctor, who both seem to think based on the test run and how my mobility has improved I can return to work on full duties starting tomorrow. I can get my knee to 110° now, which is another small win. Physio says 120-130° is about the norm.
It’s going to be a daunting experience for me, I’m not sure what reactions I’ll get but we’ll see. My workmate (who I also catch the train with) has been getting so many people asking how I am over the last few weeks.
@indigo I’ve noticed my knee will get achy the next day if I’ve done too much with it the previous day. I hope your shoulder gets better soon though and you’re having fun at yoga.

@indigo Thanks! Tomorrow will be my fourth session with the physio so we’ll see how that goes. He wants to make a return to work plan that would involve only going back to work for two days at least for next week.
I have to remember this is only the end of week 2 so I have 4 more weeks before I will actually feel normal again. Good news is I can get my knee almost to 90° now.
I hope everything goes well with your recovery too, frozen shoulder sounds painful!

Tomorrow will be the biggest test of all for me. Not only of physical strength but mental strength too. I’m doing a run into the city to see how easy it will be for me to get to work. This will ultimately determine if I can return to work next week, along with recommendations from my physiotherapist and my doctor. If I can put my anxiety aside and just be able to do this, I’ll be happy.
