Had a semi healthy debate with a friend today over whether drinking tea counts as overall water intake. He doesn’t believe it’s right but I do. He’s looking at it from a caffeine angle and I’m more from a hydration angle.

I believe there is a small amount of caffeine in the organic black tea I drink and I can drink anywhere from 3-5 cups a day. I’m aware that caffeine can cause dehydration but I also thought it was all about how it’s metabolised. I’ve been reading that tea can be just as hydrating as water.

I guess now I want to know what your opinion is on it.
