Yuck! It's definitely the whole "all eyes on you" thing that freaks me out the most. If I can ever get past that, I'm good.

I once had to do a presentation in front of the whole branch - it was all about the day to day basics of my role (I'm a compliance, banking and trust officer). I'd prepared enough for it, which was fine but it still didn't stop me from getting an anxiety attack over it. I was happy once it was over …

@schmidt_fu yeah, I'm with you there. I hate being the centre of attention. Public speaking just isn't my thing - I even struggle sometimes with talking in team meetings cause it feels like people are staring into your soul or something. Probably a bit drastic I know but you get the basics.

@schmidt_fu Local Government - Council in fact. I work in the area of Corporate Finance - typically introverted.

@schmidt_fu Seems like it. I'd never be able to do that, that's for sure!

//

@schmidt_fu Also I just googled and found a TEDtalk that she did. That could be worth watching too!

//

@schmidt_fu That could be well worth a shot. Thanks! :)

@kdfrawg absolutely :) It turns out that most of the team (me included) came out as ISTJs so the reactions to things would be mostly the same I would think.

@kdfrawg It really does. Especially in the last few months with my big boss retiring and being on the receiving end of most of the sass. I'm awful when it comes to dealing with that. I think half the time he's in denial and doesn't want to let go. I can understand that after 19 years of service.

I came out as ISTJ … completely what I expected to be honest. The need to plan everything out, the structure, the logical thinking, the needing to recharge after social outings etc. If only I can get the extraverts in my family to understand what it's like …
