Taking a break from study to clean up some old photos and other stuff I have on my Mac. Found this little gem - cracks me up every time.
Awww, thanks guys!! :) It's actually working quite well for me so far.

This is the moment where I’m quite proud of what I’ve achieved today. And since I can’t share my success with the rest of my family (they’re not as gadget geeky as me) I’ll share with you guys instead.
After I put an idea out last night about Windows on VM and what I should use, I got a fairly decent response. I decided to go with VirtualBox, for two reasons. One: it’s free. Two: For the specific purpose I want to use it for, it’s perfect.
I basically spent the afternoon “nerding out” quite badly. I’ve now installed Windows 10 on VM, installed the accounting software I need, configured the shared folder with all my study workbooks and such on the VM, configured my iPad so I can use it as a second screen, and I even set up my wifi printer to the VM which at first I wasn’t going to worry about but yay.
I didn’t get any study done but I had so much fun learning about this process. I’m glad I did it, cause I now have an effective study nook of my own and now I can put my focus on study and finding work without interruption or negative energy.
It’s these kind of moments that make me realise I’m not worthless and that makes me feel good. It’s these kind of moments where the voices of self doubt go away for a while. I’m hoping this trend continues.
@gtwilson After reading about Fusion & Parallels (which are both around the $110-$120 mark) they both seem ok but too complicated for what I want to do. And I can't afford to spend that much right now anyway. There was one specific line of one review that said if you wanted a VM for one specific purpose, VirtualBox is the way to go. And like you said it's free so I can't go wrong.
@matigo I have a mid-2013 MacBook Air. It has 4 GB RAM but configurable to 8GB. I only need to use one specific program on the Windows VM - I figure that's more than enough.
@streakmachine Probably not. I only need the Windows capabilities to be able to use the accounting software I need. Minimum requirements calls for 2GB RAM which is half of what I have on my Mac.
So the YouTube issue I had with my tv is now resolved. But now I’m on to other tech related issues. I’ve been using my Mac primarily for my studies but the accounting software I had to use works more effectively on my Windows laptop, cause Macs have issues with working with no passwords.
Now I want to know what is the best way to make Windows work on a Mac.
@matigo No way! Now I have an excuse to remember your birthday too! She was born the year after.
