This is the moment where I’m quite proud of what I’ve achieved today. And since I can’t share my success with the rest of my family (they’re not as gadget geeky as me) I’ll share with you guys instead.
After I put an idea out last night about Windows on VM and what I should use, I got a fairly decent response. I decided to go with VirtualBox, for two reasons. One: it’s free. Two: For the specific purpose I want to use it for, it’s perfect.
I basically spent the afternoon “nerding out” quite badly. I’ve now installed Windows 10 on VM, installed the accounting software I need, configured the shared folder with all my study workbooks and such on the VM, configured my iPad so I can use it as a second screen, and I even set up my wifi printer to the VM which at first I wasn’t going to worry about but yay.
I didn’t get any study done but I had so much fun learning about this process. I’m glad I did it, cause I now have an effective study nook of my own and now I can put my focus on study and finding work without interruption or negative energy.
It’s these kind of moments that make me realise I’m not worthless and that makes me feel good. It’s these kind of moments where the voices of self doubt go away for a while. I’m hoping this trend continues.
