Thanks … unfortunately he came back to me the following day to tell me the position had been filled. I believe that could be recruiter speak for the position either may not have existed at all or that it was filled internally.

Ah well, I don't have control over that so I'm not going to stress about it.

So I received an email earlier today about a Bank Reconciliations Officer role on a 6 month contract. The recruiter obviously wants someone quickly if they're emailing after hours. I indicated my interest but with questions. Hopefully I'll get answers tomorrow.

2021 has so far been about achieving the little things.

From getting my pinball game working on a PC far older than the game itself to finding some decent software to convert images to SVG format so that work on a wiki I'm contributing to can continue, it's been a pretty good couple of days so far.

I have a few goals for 2021, top of that list is securing hopefully long term employment. I've applied for a few roles so far but there is one particular role that starts on Jan 18 I'm optimistic about - I hope to hear back about that one but we'll see. I suspect most recruiters will return on Jan 4.

Agreed Dale. Welcome back my friend, it's been a while.

I had planned on travelling to Japan for my birthday this year but with international travel the way it is right now, even that's in doubt.

I'm not actually too sure about that. Just looked up the specs and it's an Intel Core i5-460M processor, if that helps.

I'm happy that it'll play the few games I have on it, including Among Us, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and now Pinball FX3.

The only lag I experience is trying to load a big challenge bomb in KTaNE but it's still good for practicing modules at least.

My ultimate plan is to sell the PC and the Mac (might get about $300 for each) and use that to go towards a gaming laptop.

Yep, I have a PS4, Switch and Wii U.

Oh and my almost 15 year old PS3 that hasn’t experienced the YLOD yet.

I don’t know how The Last of Us P2 won Game of the Year. Thought it would e been Ghost for sure!

Ghost of Tsushima was an awesome game to play. That has to be at the top, with The Last of Us Part 2.

I haven't played the latest update of Ghost yet (I think there's a new mode now) but it'll be good to get back to.

Also want to finish GTAV before VI comes out.

Yesterday I was looking at trade in options for my Windows PC because I thought the graphics card didn't meet the minimum requirements for my pinball game, despite making sure drivers were updated and checking the compatibility of DirectX.

Today I looked at the NVIDIA Control Panel and switched the GPU on the game from Intel to NVIDIA and voila, the game works.

Well then, I guess the trade in won't happen for a little while yet. Also, the PC is just over 10 years old.

Thanks mate! 🤗🤗
