The game controller vase was a Secret Santa gift I got from my last workplace.

@matigo Quite the opposite actually. The morning commute is far more flexible than the afternoon. I like to be home by a certain time, so the earlier I start, the earlier I finish.
I thought there would be an earlier train home but unfortunately that’s not the case. So the chance of seeing certain people in the afternoon is inevitable. But only I can control that inevitability.
Working from home in intermittent weeks will help too. It’ll mean I’m not on the train at all, eliminating the inevitability.
@sumudu yeah, it’s pretty neat to have a team that goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I’ve not had a private sector job in quite some time, so to make the switch is quite the adjustment.

@sumudu Oooh nice. I had an apple cider last night too. I got a pack of different flavoured ciders for Christmas too. I’ve only had a couple so far but the blackberry one is really nice too.

@matigo It’s a very nice place. They’re taking everything very seriously in terms of hand sanitiser and disposable masks etc. There’s little nooks all across the floor with them.
I started with a bit more processing work today, slowly getting used to the different systems. The phone system is all online through AWS Connect which is pretty cool. Minimalistic in terms of desk space.
There’s only one downside to catching the train. I’m likely to see people I don’t particularly want to see. I don’t know how I feel about that.

@matigo Yep. First day. I’m nervous and excited at the same time.
We have to wear masks on the train right now. I may have to get something that doesn’t fog up my glasses though. As a temporary measure what I have will work fine.
