@kdfrawg I will be after today. Having a handover meeting with my team leader and this other lady at 12. (10 minutes time)
Who has a handover meeting in the middle of the day? It’s bonkers!

@kdfrawg Probably. Everything shuts down here in about two weeks time for the holidays. You’ll often find most places don’t come back from holidays until mid January.
@kdfrawg That’s true. Can’t wait to get home and get into some of those games I purchased while the sales were on.

@matigo For security I guess? I’m not sure. It gets annoying when you go for lunch or for a meeting that lasts longer than 20 minutes and you don’t know how much work the PC will autorecover.
Oh, I didn’t get to share this the other day.
So on Friday I knew my team leader wouldn’t be there for most of the day. Brilliant, cause it means I can cruise through the day just getting stuff done.
Except for one thing - this other lady in my “team”1 thinks she has the right to micromanage me. Just try me and see where that gets you.
Lunch time comes and I go off without a word to anybody. I was meeting up with some mates that I wasn’t able to catch up with before I left this week. 75 minutes goes by and I’ve walked back in, booted up my PC2. This is the conversation after I sat down:
Pseudo team leader: “And where have you been?”
Me: “Lunch, with mates”
I was going to add something like ‘Got a problem with that?’ Or ‘What business is it of yours?’ but I didn’t. I kept my guts knowing I didn’t have long until my contract was finishing.
This is a lady who arrives 2 hours at least after I get there of a morning and watches the clock as I leave. And also has no right to question my work ethic.
Being at this place has definitely been an experience.
I use that word very loosely here cause I’m basically working on my own
It shuts down after 20 minutes
@kdfrawg Indeed. There’s not that much I can look forward to these days so I usually hold on to the smallest little thing that’ll make me happy.
@kdfrawg I’ll take that. I knew one of you had to be. What can I say, I was spoiled for choice.

@matigo Yep, especially when it goes for double the time you’re meant to have. Oops! … not! It was fun though, and a pretty decent feed at that.
